CGL 2024 SSC: Age Limit, Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

The age limit for SSC CGL 2024 varies depending on the post:

• Minimum Age: 18 years
• Maximum Age: 32 years

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates must hold a degree from a recognized university or institution. Specific qualifications may be required for certain posts, such as:
  • Statistical Investigator Grade-II: Bachelor’s degree in any subject with at least 60% in Mathematics at the 12th standard level or Bachelor’s degree in any subject with Statistics as one of the subjects.
  • Assistant Audit Officer / Assistant Accounts Officer: Desirable qualifications include Chartered Accountant or cost & management accountant company secretary or master’s in commerce master’s in business studies or master’s in business administration (finance) or master’s in business economics.

Nationality:

• Candidates must be a citizen of India, a subject of Nepal/Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before January 1, 1962, to settle in India permanently, or A person of Indian descent who has moved from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam, with the intention of permanently residing in India.

SSC CGL 2024 Notification: Selection Process 

1. Tier I (Preliminary Exam):

   • Computer-based test
   • Objective type questions
   • Covers General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension

2. Tier II (Main Exam):

   • Computer-based test
   • Paper-I: Quantitative Abilities
   • Paper-II: English Language and Comprehension
   • Paper-III: Statistics (for Statistical Investigator Gr II & Compiler)
   • Paper-IV: General Studies (Finance and Economics) for Assistant Audit Officer/ Assistant Accounts Officer

3. Tier III (Descriptive Paper):

   • Pen and paper mode
   • Essay/Precis/Letter/Application writing in English or Hindi

4. Tier IV (Skill Test):

   • Data Entry Skill Test (DEST) for Tax Assistants (Central Excise and Income Tax)
   • Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) for Assistant Section Officer in CSS, MEA & AFHQ

How to Fill up the SSC CGL Online Exam Form 2024

Steps to Apply for the SSC CGL 2024 Exam

1. Visit the Official SSC Website:
   • Go to ssc.gov.in.
   • Click on the “Apply Online” link for the SSC CGL 2024 exam.
2. Register as a New User:
   • Provide basic details such as name, email, mobile number, etc., to register.
   • After registration, you will receive login credentials.
3. Log In and Fill Out the Application Form:
   • Use your credentials to log in.
   • Complete the application form by entering personal details, educational qualifications, category, etc.
4. Upload Required Documents:
   • Please upload scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and any other necessary documents.
   • Please ensure that the documents are in the specified format and meet the required size criteria.
5. Pay the Application Fee:
   • The application fee is ₹100 for male candidates of General/OBC categories.
   • Female, SC/ST, PwD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates are exempted from the fee.
   • Pay the fee online through BHIM UPI, net banking, debit/credit cards, or offline by generating a challan and depositing cash at an SBI branch.
